2012 Canberra Festival Launched

Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation Andrew Barr launched the 2012 Canberra Festival, which runs From Friday 2 March to Sunday 18 March. This year’s festival will have more than 50 events to celebrate Canberra’s 99th birthday.
The festival features events such as Balloon Spectacular, Symphony in the Park, Celebrate in the Park and a short film competition Lights! Canberra! The competition will feature local filmmakers and their films will be screened in The Senate Gardens at Old Parliament House on Friday March 9th.
Minister Bar Said “There is something for everyone during the Festival, and I encourage all Canberrans to check out the program and head along to the great events on offer.”
Rides and amusements form a prelude to a finale of spectacular fireworks, which will light up the sky above Commonwealth Park.
