Man on a Ledge

Directed by Asger Leth
Staring Sam Worthington, Elizabeth Banks and Jamie Bell
Rated M
score 6/6

As a police psychologist works to talk down an ex-con who is threatening to jump from a Manhattan hotel rooftop, the biggest diamond heist ever committed is in motion.

Granted Man on the ledge might seem a little slow in the beginning. Nevertheless, do not let that get you down about the movie after all you have to put all your pieces on the board before anything can really happen. I could not help but notice that Man on the ledge seemed to be possibly influenced by The Negotiator and to a certain extent Dog Day Afternoon. Man on a Ledge is brilliantly crafted, even thought the beginning is a little slow things do seem to pick up very quickly. I suggest that so you do not find yourself getting lost halfway through that you do not duck out to the candy bar to get another choc top or drink or you will miss out on some of the subtle clues.
However, Sam Worthington clearly was the focus of the film, both Elizabeth Banks and Jamie Bell gave brilliant performances. Over the several films I have seen featuring Bell I have noticed that he is a versatile actor.
