Series Producer & Director of Prisoner Zero Josh Campbell took some time out to answer some questions

What can audiences expect from Prisoner Zero?

The audience can expect beautifully created 2D animation from local Australian animators. An engaging story written by Science fiction experts and voiced by high-class voice talent. Prisoner Zero has characters you want to invest in and grow with.

What was the inspiration for Prisoner Zero?

Prisoner Zero was inspired by a very traditional good versus evil storytelling, but with a healthy dose of shades of grey. No one is 100% good or 100% evil (well, except maybe General Vykar, he’s pretty all-out evil) so it means the audience can relate to these as people and cheer for them.

When can audiences expect season two?

For Prisoner Zero: Season 2 the audience should expect some exciting new locations, brand new threats, some love, a mix of new and established characters but above all even more fun.

What are some of the other projects that you have worked on?

Crazily enough my career began with Doctor Who which was amazing as a fan of the show. I started as an Assistant Producer at a small company called Theta-Sigma assisting producing two animated Doctor Who episodes. A year or so later I began working at Planet 55 Studios where I was attached again to work on more Doctor Who animated episodes. Firstly the 50th anniversary animated episode – Doctor Who: The Tenth Planet, which showed the first time the Doctor would regenerate, a great piece of TV history, and then later two episodes of Doctor Who: The Moonbase.

What where your favorite afternoon TV series growing up?

I was a Cheese TV fan, waking up in the morning to Jade and Ryan and their crazy behaviour.
I loved watching Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon and Digimon but my favourite was Yu-Gi-Oh!
