What’s a song lyric that has stuck with you forever?

Okay. The one song lyric that has stuck with me forever. It was from the 1995 album Days Like This by Van Morrison. The album was released in June of 1995 and the song Days Like probably didn’t come to my attention until October or maybe November. I don’t remember the exact date. I know it’s not a big deal, but details pad out a blog post. Anyway, the specific lyric was ‘My mama told me, There’ll be days like this’. Now, the first time I heard the song I didn’t hear the song entirely. When I first heard this song I was 13 and in hospital, people who personally know me know the why. Getting back to the story, I was in a hospital bed watching TV and there was an Ad for Kmart (it was 31 years ago gimme a break) the song Days Like This played on the ad, I heard the lyric and turned to mum and said ‘I need that album’. The album was brought for me and transferred to tape, because at the time I only had a Walkman and didn’t have portable CD player. On the other side of the tape was the Album Stylin’ Up by Christine Anu. Anyway Thank you to mum for getting me that album.
