Desperate to take care of his pregnant wife before a terminal illness can take his life, Dodge Tynes accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game where he soon discovers that he’s not the hunter – but the prey.

Most Dangerous Game was inspired by “The Most Dangerous Game”, also published as “The Hounds of Zaroff”, is a short story by Richard Connell, first published in Collier’s on January 19, 1924. “The Most Dangerous Game” is one of many works that entered the public domain in the United States in 2020 thus ensuring that there are going to be a lot of remakes of “The Most Dangerous Game”. It should also be noted that although the 15 episode first season was released on the Roku Channel however, the first season was released on Amazon Prime in some countries edited together as a 2 hour feature.
For the record I watched the edited 2 hour feature version, though even all of us are guilty of binge watching the occasional series, Most Dangerous Game might have been a little better watch if the overall structure of the season took a few pages from the Television Series 24. Liam Hemsworth gave a decent enough performance though I enjoyed Christoph Waltz (I thought that Waltz had several really good lines of dialogue) and Billy Burke’s performances. There were several good moments of world building between the Hunters which was good to see. Though there were also a couple of special effects shots that didn’t seem to be as good as they could have been and came across like something that you would expect from a bad 90’s TV Action Series.
