When a top-secret weapon falls into mercenary hands, a wild card CIA agent joins forces with three international agents on a lethal mission to retrieve it, while staying a step ahead of a mysterious woman who’s tracking their every move.

Okay after a quick 5 minutes of research you’ll find out that Jessica Chastain proposed the idea (That became The 355) for a female-led spy film in the same spirit as the Mission: Impossible and the James Bond series to her Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg while in production on that film. Supposedly the idea was originally conceptualized as a TV series, though the series was never picked up. I have what could be considered a slightly controversial opinion about The 355, at best its an average movie. The 355 has been compared to Elizabeth Banks’ 2019 Charlie’s Angels. No, I don’t think that The 355 can be compared to much with Banks’ Charlie Angels, especially when you compare the two you’ll find that The 355 is the better movie. I saw how, the filmmakers tried to capture the spirit of Mission: Impossible and James Bond but they seemed to have trouble with the sense of flair and pacing that Mission: Impossible and Bond are famous for. They came close with a couple of scenes but didn’t succeed. I enjoyed Penélope Cruz’s character arch as Graciela Rivera, and I enjoyed Lupita Nyong’o’s and Sebastian Stan’s performances.
