Entries Open for Revelation Perth International Film Festival




Australia’s Leading Independent Film Festival the Revelation Perth International Film Festival is Calling for Entries for its 25th Edition. Championing independent cinema from across the globe and around the corner since 1997, the Revelation Perth International Film Festival is set to deliver its 25th edition July 7 – 17, 2022.
Festival Director Richard Sowada said that the silver jubilee promises yet another lovingly curated program celebrating independent filmmakers and boundary pushing storytellers, with the call for entries NOW OPEN to both emerging and established, local and international filmmakers. Speaking of the last 25 years, Mr. Sowada said “we’ve seen the media industry and audience shift creatively, economically and culturally over this time and this is why we love this sector so much and why we continue to embrace and platform new and converging forms, and the unique screen artists working within them.”
Revelation is seeking films of all forms, all durations, all subjects and all nationalities for inclusion in their annual program which provides a unique opportunity for filmmakers at all levels to be included in a high-quality, high-impact screening event. Submissions close 1 April, 2022. Mr. Sowada said that as Australia’s leading independent screen event, Revelation continues to actively advocate for Australian screen culture and independent practice on an ethical agenda. Mr. Sowada explained that in addition to the Festival, the team behind Rev provides an online streaming platform with over 300 titles available 24/7 via RevStream, and produces XR:WA – the annual interactive VR, AR and gaming Conference and Expo 17 -19 September at the Perth Cultural Centre as well the annual WA Screen Culture Awards – set for Sunday 5 December. Revelation is supported by the Australian and West Australian governments through Screenwest, Lotterywest, Screen Australia and the City of Vincent.
