Daredevil

Director Mark Steven Johnson
Starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell
Rated M
Score 3.5/6 (The Director’s would probably receive an extra 0.5)

A man blinded by toxic waste which also enhanced his remaining senses fights crime as an acrobatic martial arts superhero.

There might be another review coming for a Marvel movie, possibly two if I brush off my copy of Howard the Duck. It should be noted though this is a review for the theatrical release of Daredevil, I would recommend that you watch the Director’s Cut because the ending makes a little more since then it does in the theatrical release. Yes, I probably would have watched the director’s cut and not the theatrical release if I had of been motivated enough to go searching for it in my DVD collection.

One last thing before we get started a quick question, Miss Rose McGowan I remember your outrage about the X-Men Apocalypse Poster in 2016 where was your outrage 13 years ago in 2003 for what happened to Elektra?

For those of you who don’t know before he was Batman Ben Affleck was cast as Daredevil in Mark Steven Johnson’s 2003 movie Daredevil. This casting choice alongside the cuts that studio is probably why it didn’t do that well. Even with the hatred that this movie has there are some cool moments. The late Michael Clarke Duncan who was cast as the Kingpin (who was playing a character who was white in the source material) didn’t even have to move a muscle and he had the imposing and threatening aura about him. Collin Farrell’s performance was something akin to a psychotic twitchy showman and then there is Jennifer Garner, in the interest of full disclosure I have a small crush on her and most of the scenes that stick out in my mind feature her.
