Elektra the warrior survives a near-death experience, becomes an assassin-for-hire, and tries to protect her two latest targets, a single father and his young daughter, from a group of supernatural assassins.

Alright for those of you who might be wondering two years after the Daredevil movie starring Ben Affleck and at the peak of her run in J.J. Abrams’ TV series Alias. For the record considering the fate of Elektra during Daredevil at the time my lack of knowledge regarding the comic book character left me a little unsure as to how they were going to pull this movie off.

Here’s the thing you need to remember, strong female comic book characters are out there. They might not always be where you expect them (In the MCU or the DCEU) you just must be willing to look for them.

Jennifer Garner’s portrayal of Elektra in this movie was a little odd I think that was brought by the character’s OCD, which in itself was an odd choice by the actress. The oddness didn’t stop there Goran Visnjic seemed like a poor casting choice as Mark Miller and there seemed to have little or no onscreen chemistry with Garner, any feelings that might have been developed during the character’s love story didn’t successfully shake of the awkwardness that you would expect from a first date. Despite the oddness that could be off putting Garner was more than capable to portray Elektra and it was good to see that Abby who was portrayed by Kirsten Prout wasn’t a damsel in distress.
