Score 2/6

The Doctor, Sarah and Harry teleports to Earth to ensure the planet is safe for the survivors on-board Nerva Beacon to return to Earth and re-inhabit their world. Only to find a Sontaran named Styre has captured a group of humans and conducting experiments on them to discover the human body’s weaknesses.

The Sontaran Experiment was first broadcast between 22 February and 1 March 1975. For those of you who might be interested Terry Walsh not only played a minor role as an astronaut, but doubled for Tom Baker in parts of episode two, after Baker broke a collarbone during filming. I suppose the biggest problem I had with this one was the fact that it was only a two parter. I know that might seem to be awfully petty of me especially considering that most of the nouveau doctor who adventures that are one part (yes I do realise that there has been a seasonal story arc but all the stories within the season there were self-contained adventures ). Being only two parts gave me the overall feeling that the story really did not have the chance to go anywhere.
