This one is for those of you out there who think that I’ve completely forgotten about writing any reviews. Maybe I have, but only for a little while. Trust me.

For those of you who are wondering Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was adapted from a book that was written by Seth Grahame-Smith and published by Quirk Books in 2009. You might be interested to know that Grahame-Smith was also responsible for the 2010 novel Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter which was also adapted into a movie while other titles published by Quirk Books include Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.

I’ll be honest I haven’t read Grahame-Smith’s book, Jane Austen’s classic or watched any of the movies that where adapted from Austen’s novel. Did this movie inspire me to read Austen’s novel or any of the movie adaptations? Probably not, there is going to have a long enough gap between my watching of this before I even consider visiting any of the movie adaptions . This might not of been the best of movies and considering the mainstream popularity of Zombies I can certainly see why the movie was made (and that might be enough to keep people away from this one being the lack of completely original idea on the part of Seth Grahame-Smith and what it says about the state creativity in Hollywood.) but I suppose it was the combination of a sense of curiosity, Regency period finery and the action sequences (they kicked zombie ass and looked good doing it!!) that kept me from leaving the session, though I hope I won’t comeback should there be any sequel (I hope). Even though I wasn’t overly familiar with most of the actors Pride and Prejudice and Zombies had a solid cast and I was a little surprised to see Matt Smith in this who gave a great performance as Parson Collins.
