Frankenstein’s creature finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.

If you are going to go see I, Frankenstein expecting an Academy Award worthy screenplay I sincerely hope that you re-evaluate your life choices. I, Frankenstein is a popcorn movie that you watch with your buddies and because this is a popcorn it’s heavy on the action and special effects. I was actually kind of impressed with the effects for the deaths of the demons and the gargoyles. It should be noted that this was based on a graphic novel of the same name by Kevin Grevioux (who was also behind the Underworld film franchise) has stated in an interview that there was potential for a crossover with the Underworld franchise. Though apparently it does not look like this will happen.
This re-imagination of the classic horror tale is kind of interesting considering that the monster is not the stereotypical lumbering brute with the casting of Aaron Eckhart, the monster is actually given a first name and the centuries old battle between the gargoyle order (created by the Archangel Michael) and demons.
It was great to see that this movie was filmed almost entirely in Melbourne Victoria though there where a few scenes filmed in Bariloche, Argentina.
