HOYTS is rolling out the red carpet for its cinema teams, with the crew taking centre stage to showcase a fresh, new look. The revamped uniforms, featuring red and black polos, are tailored with practicality in mind. Designed and produced in conjunction with Total Image Group, the uniforms were created to support the diverse tasks performed by crew members across every role, from food and beverage service at the Candy Bar to guest check-in and post-film cinema cleaning. HOYTS Cinema Operations General Manager, Christina Langdon, said the new uniform design was a collaborative effort, shaped by feedback from team members as well as guests.
“When we approached the team to discuss the most important design elements for our new uniforms, comfort, functionality and visibility emerged as the key priorities,” Langdon commented. “We know that when our crew look and feel good, they’re empowered to deliver great service with confidence and pride. We wanted a uniform that is comfortable and practical, while remaining reflective of our brand. Ultimately, it’s about giving our people something they feel good wearing, while ensuring our guests can easily identify our crew.”

The polos feature a cotton-backed material, selected to enhance breathability and provide greater comfort. The fabric also allows for greater freedom of movement, ensuring the uniform remains comfortable and practical for crew members throughout their shift.
“We also wanted to give our crew greater choice in how they wear their uniform. The refresh will include a range of options, allowing our people to choose what feels right for them while maintaining a cohesive and professional look across our cinemas,” Langdon commented. “Our guests shared that being able to easily identify our crew in a busy cinema is extremely important. In response, the new black polo shirts feature red panels and the familiar HOYTS logo on the upper left chest, creating a distinctive look that makes our crew easy to spot throughout the cinema.”
The new uniforms will replace the previous all-black dress code of long-sleeved button-up shirts and black pants, following crew feedback that it was not practical for some cinema tasks. This marks the first step in HOYTS’ uniform refresh, with additional styles set to roll out later this year for HOYTS LUX and Arties Bar. Guests can expect to see HOYTS cinema crew wearing the new black and red uniforms over the coming weeks at their local HOYTS cinemas.
