Streaming Services & Ads

Okay, a lot of people have probably heard that the ACCC has taken legal action against Amazon. As I understand it part of it has something to do with the introduction of ads on a paid subscription service. That’s wrong and the other paid subscription services shouldn’t adopt similar business practices (I’m not going to point fingers but we know who they are). Part of the reason I originally migrated to streaming services was to escape the ads. The other reason was the variety of programming. Now, here’s how I see it, if streaming services like Amazon want to offer ads to their subscribers they should be allowed to. BUT !!! the only way I believe that they are morally allowed to keep showing ads to their subscribers is WHEN they offer a plan that is free to their subscribers similar to the plans that are currently being offered by streaming platforms like Tubi, Plex, Viki or Brollie.
