Kris Chaney, a recently released ex-convict embarks on a perilous mission. He kidnaps Elisa, daughter of Vicente, a powerful gangster, which puts them in danger from El Corvo, a psychopathic killer seeking revenge against Vicente’s family.
Ok, Scott Adkins’ movies are something of a mixed bag when it comes to quality and some movies like Hard Target 2 venture into the realm of the faux sequel. Now saying that Adkins is a talented action star. Diablo is very much a boys night movie in a creative action sequence kind of way, there was a rather sadistic moment involving a fire extinguisher. Even though he was credited as the star of the movie, Adkins didn’t carry the movie and a large part of me doubts that he’ll ever be able to give that kind of performance. Though her character arc might have been a little predictable I enjoyed Alana De La Rossa’s performance as Elisa. Marko Zaror gave a brilliant performance as “El Corvo” the character is possibly one of the creepiest villains in the past year.
