Dominating the number one position at HOYTS and the Australian box office for another weekend was Spider-Man: Brand New Day which captured an additional $3M in its fifth week, bringing its total cume to a whopping $81M. Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continues to captivate audiences where the blockbuster release came in at number two with $2.24M, bringing its overall total to $60.2M. At number three was the supernatural thriller, Insidious: Out of the Further which brought in $745k, while the new Jacob Elordi release The Dog Stars debuted at number four with $620k. Rounding out this weekend’s top five was André Rieu’s 2026 Summer Concert: Viva Maastricht! with $604k. The top 10 movies together contributed to 79% of the total national gross box office for the weekend. The top genre of the weekend was once again action, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey continuing their strong hold on the top of the Australian box office.

1. Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to hold the top spot at the box office, generating an additional $3M in its fifth week. The movie has now achieved an astonishing $81M. 
2. The Odyssey was at number two where the blockbuster brought home $2.24M in its seventh weekend, bringing the film’s total box office to an extraordinary $60.2M. 
3. Insidious: Out of the Further, came in at number three and earned $745k over the weekend, taking the supernatural horror film’s cumulative box office to $2.28M.
4. Debuting at number four was The Dog Stars which uncovered $620k on its opening weekend. 
5. André Rieu’s 2026 Summer Concert: Viva Maastricht! came in at number five and brought in $604k at the box office over the weekend in cinemas. 
6. Spa Weekend earned $470k on its second weekend where it landed at number six. The movie’s total box office is now at $1.83M. 
7. The End of Oak Street found itself at number seven where it unearthed $405k this weekend. This movie now has a box office total of $3.47M. 
8. Pan-Indian title, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups, debuted at number eight and earned $376k on its opening weekend. With a Wednesday release, the movie has a cumulative box office of $649k. 
9. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (25th Anniversary Re-Release with Bonus Footage) came in at number nine and brought in $350k this weekend. The anniversary re-release of the movie has now generated a total $454k at the box office. 
10. Rounding out the top 10, was the Malayalam title, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit which took home $314k this weekend, bringing its box office total to $861k.
