A biker returns from Thailand to set things straight with his girlfriend. One gang leader wants him for the delivery of 2 motorbikes filled with crystal meth, and another gang leader wants him for murdering his brother.

Okay, before I go too far into this review, the ‘Ow my balls’ award goes to Martin Henderson and Ice Cube for the Train sequence. For the record, I have vague memories of seeing this in the Friendly Neighbourhood cinema. Also, it is interesting to note that Torque was released after 2 Fast 2 Furious in 2004, which is interesting to note because Torque made fun of The Fast and the Furious Franchise (mocking Dominic Toretto’s line about living life a quarter mile at a time) before the Franchise started openly mocking the laws of physics. A fun connection: Matt Schulze, who portrayed the film’s antagonist, Henry James, also appeared in The Fast and the Furious, playing Dominic Toretto’s childhood friend and member of the truck hijacking team, Vince. Director Joseph Kahn is primarily known for his work on music videos; Torque was his debut as a director. Torque isn’t a ‘big loud action movie,’ and I suppose the movie loses a little going from the big screen to the smaller screen for streaming and really can’t be called a ‘Big Loud Action Movie’. It seemed that Ice Cube really didn’t have to try that with his performance. Henderson gave a charming enough performance as Cary Ford, but it certainly wasn’t his breakout role. Will Yun Lee & Jay Hernandez made for a solid comedic duo. I was a little surprised when I realised that Jaime Pressly had a role in this.
