Why Not a Micro-Wedding Ceremony at The iconic Sydney Opera House?

The iconic Sydney Opera House will be the stunning backdrop for more than 30 loved-up couples as they tie the knot in exclusive micro-wedding ceremonies hosted by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages this Valentine’s Day. NSW Registrar Amit Padhiar said 32 micro-weddings and a vow renewal would be hosted by the Registry in the Sydney Opera House’ spectacular Yallamundi Rooms, giving couples the opportunity to exchange their vows in intimate ceremonies at the beautiful venue.
“Following the incredible response from our micro-wedding events last year, we are excited to offer more couples the chance to get married in an iconic Australian location on one of the most romantic days of the year,” Mr Padhiar commented “We know weddings can be expensive at the best of times especially when combined with cost-of-living pressures. Micro-weddings offer the chance for couples to have their dream wedding without the big price tag. This Valentine’s Day the Registry will host a total 36 weddings across both the Sydney Opera House and the Registry office in Chippendale.”

Australian couple Jarrod and Natasha will travel back from the United Kingdom to tie the knot on Valentine’s Day at the Sydney Opera House, the same place where they had their first date.
“Our love story began in 2010 on Valentine’s Day with the beautiful Sydney Opera House as our backdrop and where Jarrod would later work as an usher, When we discovered the Registry was hosting micro weddings on our 13th anniversary and at a place which means so much it felt like it was meant to be.” Natasha commented “To be getting married at the Sydney Opera House feels like we’ve come full circle, it feels like home. Working with the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages has also been great and made us even more confident in our decision.”
Mr Padhiar explained that the Registry’s micro-weddings offer couples the chance to wed at iconic venues across NSW including Sergeants’ Mess overlooking Chowder Bay in Mosman and The Old Clare Hotel in Chippendale. With 35 people or less, this intimate style of wedding allows couples to book an affordable and personalised package at an unforgettable location.
