Street-smart Nathan Drake is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan, and lost 500 years ago by the House of Moncada.

Has there ever been a decent movie adaption of a movie game? At the moment I can’t think of one, if you have seen one please I’d like to know about it. Now, granted this is something that I probably should have gotten my act together and saw this at the cinema instead of waiting for the DVD release because there certainly are some scenes that need the impact of being seen on a cinema screen. Most notably with the famous fall from the plane and the helicopters in the final act of the movie. At best Uncharted is a satisfactory film that was let down by its lead actors. Even though he is a talented actor at 24 years old Tom Holland was just too young for the role. For better interpretations of Nathan Drake look to the 2018 Live Action Fan Film starring Nathon Fillion and batinthesun’s Lara Croft v Nathan Drake episode of Super Power Beat Down. While Mark Wahlberg just didn’t seem to be able to find the balance between likable and grumpy old man. I kind of enjoyed Sophia Ali’s performance as Chloe Frazer, while there was practically no substance to Antonio Banderas’s character Santiago Moncada. Yes I was a little disappointed that the character of Elena Fisher was not featured in the movie but I suppose it gives the filmmakers some way to expand the cinematic if the film gets a sequel.
