Five assassins aboard a fast moving bullet train find out their missions have something in common.

For those of you who might be interested, Bullet Train is based on the 2010 novel Maria Beetle by Kōtarō Isaka. On a side note taking a Bullet Train from Tokyo to Kyoto will take you 2 hours and 8 minutes, the runtime of the movie. It should also be noted that there are some fun cameos throughout the movie and be sure to stay for the scene during the end credits.
This is one of those times where procrastination got the better of me, I probably should have gone to the cinema sooner than I actually did. I will admit that the decision to actually go and watch this at the cinema certainly was a spur of the moment decision. On the face of it the plot does sound a little basic, but it’s all about the overall execution of the story and if you stick with it you will be glad that you did, especially if you enjoy movies like Pulp Fiction. I would be curious to find out how much the movie differs from Isaka’s book because things get wild especially in the third act when everything becomes a little more clear. The way that plot is structured made Bullet Train more than the average action movie and has left me curious about director David Leitch’s next movie. I enjoyed the use of  Miki Asakura’s cover of Hero (Holding Out For A Hero). I loved the fight sequence between Brad Pitt’s Ladybug and Benito A. Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny’s The Wolf. I’m not that familiar with Joey King’s work but I found that I really enjoyed her performance as the Prince. I also enjoyed Brian Tyree Henry’s performance as Lemon and his love for Thomas the Tank Engine made him one of the more interesting characters in the movie.
