Renegade was an American Television Show that run for 110 episodes spanning five seasons from September 19th, 1992, to April 4, 1997 and was created by Stephen J. Cannell. I will admit that when I was younger and prettier this was one of a handful of shows that caused me to learn how to properly use a VCR so that I could tape them because they were usually all broadcast at 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning. For those of you wondering my teenage brain at the time was attracted to the show because of the name of the show. Or at least that’s how I remember it. Of all the television series, out there that take me on some kind of nostalgia trip, considering how bad it is in places I really have to wonder why I am admitting to actually having watched it. The action sequences in both of the episodes that I watched are not the best, I suppose its is a testament to how far the portrayal of martial arts has come on screen, for those of you who might be interested episodes of Walker Texas Ranger made it to American television screens in April of 1993.
Setting the cheesiness of the action sequence aside there still are some things to like about the series most notably the Theme song and the level of charisma that Branscome Richmond brought to the role of Bobby Sixkiller. Am I going to watch the rest of the series? I really haven’t decided on that just yet. But in the second acting I loved the sleaziness of Peter Koch’s performance as Boone Avery. Then there is Michelle McCormick as Tina Wendell. That dress she wore in the final scene of the episode ….. okay I’ll admit it, lyrics to Come on Eilleen by Dexys Midnight Runners did come to mind.
