Operation Christmas Drop

netflixDirector Martin Wood

Rated PG
Score 3/6

Congressional aide Erica forgoes family Christmas to travel at her boss’s behest. At a beachside Air Force base, she clashes with Capt. Andrew Jantz, who knows her assignment is finding reasons to defund the facility.

I suppose its that time of year that I should probably at least try and watch a couple of Christmas ahead of the visit by The Fatman in the red suit. For those of you who are interested the movie is loosely based on the real-life U.S. Air Force Operation Christmas Drop humanitarian mission that first started in 1952.

I really did not expect that much of Operation Christmas Drop, because lets face it a Christmas movie is usually a paint by numbers kind of thing and Operation Christmas Drop did not to do anything to break out of the ‘Cheesy Christmas Movie’ mould. Both Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig made this an enough of an enjoyable movie to watch. Ludwig certainly has it in him to become a good choice for the romantic lead in other Netflix seasonal movies. Is this a movie that I am going to watch again this time next year? I doubt it. Is Operation Christmas Drop a memorable movie? I do not know.
