Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all of humanity.

I should have dodged the bullet on this one and perhaps waited until this was released on DVD before I watched Dark Phoenix. I suppose the only reason why I decided to watch this was when I heard how much money it was losing at the box office and I knew I had to see for myself.
The X-men film franchise has its problems most notably its continuity craziness, Dark Phoenix also has its problems, namely its director Simon Kinberg. Who though he does have some experience with comic book movies, this was his first time directing a feature length movie, so it would have been good see the directing duties for Dark Phoenix with more directing experience then Kinberg, this was not one of more action packed movies in the franchise.
Now I have admitted in the past that I am not the biggest guy, but what I am lead to believe is that the Dark Phoenix Saga what the movie is adapted from is one of the most significant stories of the X-Men franchise. There was several times while I was watching I was left wondering if this could really be classified as a movie because there was time that I thought that the acting would have been more at home in a soap opera.
