I’m not sure but I might have heard about The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension a couple of times over the years but never really knew anything about the movie until I stumbled across while looking through the catalogue of a favourite Australian distribution company and brought it on Blu-Ray. The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai is a cool movie to watch. Now let me be perfectly clear, this was released in ’84 and the effects look to be a little dated by standards and it should be noted that the make special effects seem to be a couple of steps up from what you would expect from Doctor Who episodes from 60’s and 70’s. However, don’t let that stop you from watching this movie, there is just this aura with the soundtrack and the characters that just makes a fun movie to watch. This was the first movie W.D. Richter director and I’m not overly familiar with much of his work. I enjoyed Peter Weller’s performance as Buckaroo Banzai and I believe that New Jersey is probably one of Jeff Goldblum’s more memorable roles, based purely on his costume. I’d also like to not that I have come across a new favourite movie quote ‘Hey, hey, hey, hey-now. Don’t be mean; we don’t have to be mean, cuz, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.’
