Ticket Vending Machines Ready For Canberra Commuters

Canberra commuters can now purchase tickets or top up their MyWay card at a Ticket Vending Machine as we get ready for the introduction of light rail and a more integrated and innovative public transport system. The new Ticket Vending Machines are easy to use and are stationed in major bus interchanges in Tuggeranong, Woden, Gungahlin and the City, with Belconnen coming soon.
“You might have already seen these machines popping up around Canberra. I’m pleased to say they are now up and running and ready for use!” Minister for Transport Meegan Fitzharris commented “As we get ready for a new bus network to begin and light rail to start operating in coming months, our new ticket vending machines will make it easier for people to use public transport and leave the car at home.”
Minister Fitzharris explained that commuters can use the machines to check the balance on their MyWay card, top up their MyWay card instantly, or purchase a single or daily adult or concession ticket. The ticket vending machines will also be available at all light rail stops, when operational.
“You can top up your MyWay card using cash or card (PayWave only). When using a Ticket Vending machine, you are also able to select from four languages, which are English, Arabic, Chinese and Italian.v“While you can’t purchase a MyWay card from a Ticket Vending Machine, customers are still able to purchase or top up a MyWay card at our MyWay recharge agents,” Minister Fitzharris commented.

Ticket Vending Machines are touch screen based, user-friendly and are now available for use.
