Alright, it did feel a little odd watching this one at home on my laptop, considering the distributors of Strange Colours are trying to get more Australian movies in the cinemas.

For those of you who might not know Director Alena Lodkina won funding for Strange Colours through the Venice Biennale College Cinema scheme.
Strange Colours did seem to have something of a slow start, though the opening few moments where very striking going from the vast openness of space and the outback of Lightning Ridge to the confines of an opal mine.
I hadn’t come across the work of anybody involved with the filming of Strange Colours before. Judging by the performances of the actors it was clear that its early days with their careers and I hope that I will come across them again in future movies or television series. I enjoyed Daniel P Jones’s performance, particularly the moments where his character was cast in Milena’s eyes of being a human and not just a parent. Kate Cheel gave a good performance and I hope that I will come across more of her work.

I also liked how at the start of the movie the sounds of the outback at night
