For those of you who might not know Tag is based on a true story that was published in The Wall Street Journal about a group of grown men, who spend one month a year playing the game of tag and if you haven’t read the article there is every chance that you might have seen some other article in the lead up to the movie’s release.
The whole cast seemed to work well in this delightfully stupid movie. I particularly enjoyed Jeremy Renner’s performance and the nods his character seemed to give to Robert Downey Jr’s interpretation of Sherlock Holmes throughout the movie which at first had me thinking that his character was the of love child of Sherlock Holmes and Hawkeye. Though I don’t go out of my way to watch a movie because she is cast in it I also found myself enjoying Isla Fisher’s performance, her character’s competitive spirit was possibly the only frightening thing about this movie.
Jeff Tomsic who is known mostly for his TV work has delivered something that was worth watching and that I would consider revisiting.
