John Canyon, one of the last independent space transport entrepreneurs. Bad times have forced him to carry suspicious cargo to Earth without asking questions. During the flight, the cargo turns out to be a multitude of virtually unstoppable killer robots.

This is one of those movies that if I watched it twenty years ago I probably would have liked it a lot more then I did. This is not a bad in fact its just average. There really wasn’t anything to special to the plot. I mean, killer robots invading being used to invade earth are probably one of the tent pole plot points of science fiction. Dennis Hopper, Debi Mazar and Stephen Dorf really did seem to work well together though it should be noted that Charles Dance as Captain Macanudo probably has one of the funniest scenes in the movie. What I really liked about Space Truckers is that it was not overly science fictiony and that it had an everyday life thrown into space feel, particularly with the spaceships and space travel.
