Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Before I get to far into things a small note for parents of younger fans of the X-Men film franchise, this is probably not a movie for fans under the age of 10. You should take into consideration the fact that in the US Logan received an R rating, just like Deadpool, and Logan has a similar level of brutality to the violence in Deadpool.

In the lead, up to Logan I really did not do that much homework, the only phrase that kind of stuck in my mind was that Logan transcends the comic book genre. If you’re looking for a comic book movie that is dark, violent and estranged family elements that has the chance to be financially successful, then yeah maybe Logan Transcends the comic book gnere. But I would like to point out that there are other comic book movies that have been released before Logan such as Term Life (2016) and My Name is Modesty (2004) but they are not the same level as Logan. Considering how many times that they have both played Charles and Logan both Stewart and Jackman could have done this on autopilot though did have some great moments together. It should be noted that this was Dafne Keen’s first movie role and she gave a great performance, she got a chance to kick some serious butt in this though some of the more brutal moments her character was involved in where left off screen.
For those of you who are wondering Logan is director James Mangold’s second outing with Hugh Jackman, the previous being back in 2013 with The Wolverine. Mangold also directed the 2007 movie 3:10 to Yuma.
This work on Yuma helped Mangold deliver something that was visually impressive, particularly in the first act of the movie. Logan really hit all the same beats that you would expect from almost any other action movie. I loved the heartfelt note that the movie ended on and it left me wondering in what direction the franchise is going to go in the future. I suppose my only complaint about the movie is that the lead up to the final action sequence could have been handled a little better.
