Slide in Fed Square

Tourists and locals alike visiting Melbourne’s Federation Square will be able to beat the heat of summer by enjoying a giant inflatable water slide, running 75 meters. Acting Minister for Tourism and Major Events Philip Dalidakis launched Toyota’s Slide the Square, which will be open 10 AM to 8 PM daily until 15 January 2017.
Mr. Dalidakis said that the slide was organized by Federation Square in association with Slide Melbourne, the water used for the slide will also be recycled into tanks to water the Square’s garden. Dalidakis added that Toyota’s Slide the Square is part of the ‘Summer in Fed Square’ initiative supported by the Andrews Labor Government, running a series of attractions for visitors and locals to enjoy in the heart of Melbourne over the summer holiday period.
“Slide the Square is yet another great attraction here in Melbourne for families and friends to enjoy.” Mr. Dalidakis commented “Fed Square is running a fantastic series of summer events this year that provide tourists with more activities to enjoy in the heart of the city and keep our local businesses busy during summer.”
Dalidakis explained that with a full program of music, films, cultural festivals, exhibitions, design markets and much more, Federation Square will continue to be a hive of activity throughout January in the lead up to the 2017 Australian Open where more than 700,000 attendees are expected.

Tickets to Toyota’s Slide the Square can be purchased online via Ticketmaster or from the ticket booth at the Swanston Street Forecourt in Federation Square
