Japan is plunged into chaos upon the appearance of a giant monster.

Before we get started I have a small message for Legendary Pictures and the filmmakers involved with the production of the last Godizilla ‘reboot’ Director Gareth Edwards and Writers David Callaham there is a right way and a wrong way of rebooting a franchise and your 2014 release Godzilla was most certainly the wrong way while Shin Gojira is the right way. There needs to be a certain level of efficiency when it comes to the plot something that almost seems impossible when it comes to certain American movies adapted from Japanese source material considering that in 2014 it was about 55 minutes until Godzilla was actually shown on screen while it was less than half that with the Japanese production. It should also be noted that Shin Gojira is not connected to Legendary’s series.
I’ll advise that you should watch this on a screen that has decent speakers, watching this on my little laptop didn’t seem to give the ‘Godzilla roar’ justice.
I loved how the filmmakers managed to combine an overall modern feel and still give us look that you would generally expect from a Godzilla movie right down to Godzilla being portrayed by a man in a suit (even if it’s a motion capture suit).
