The USS Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test.

This might not be as action packed as the previous two reboot films where because of the destruction of the Enterprise, making it slightly more character driven (though don’t worry it still has a couple loud space explosions) I also really enjoyed both Karl Urban and Zachary Quinto’s performances. Simon Pegg also had a couple of cool onscreen moments, though I suppose that is possibly one of the benefits of being involved with the writing process. But I would like to see him get the opportunity to be involved with the writing process of future Star Trek movies. I also thought it was cool that the poster for Star Trek paid homage to the 1979 movie.
I suppose if I was going to get a little nitpicky considering the hype that was given to the fact that Rihanna’s recently released single sledgehammer was going to be featured in the movie that perhaps it could of been featured a little more prominently in the movie. Also in the lead up to the release you might of heard that they made Sulu who is portrayed by John Cho was gay. Now it’s true gay or straight it’s no big deal and it was good to see that the movie took that approach but it would have been to see that they had little more screen time together and perhaps even exchange some dialogue.
