A troubled man runs away to Mexico and is recruited to join a paramilitary group of teens fighting the drug cartels. He proves himself to the group, but questions their motive.

In this age of anti-trolls and anti-bullies at times it seems that there needs to be a certain tact and diplomacy when you are expressing your opinions especially when expressing them online. With this review I have a feeling that I might struggle a little bit to reign myself in and not be as openly hostile as I should to this ‘movie’ Mercury Plains especially when the constant thought that I had while watching this offering form Charles Burmeister where thoughts of “What the Fuck?”.
I’ll admit that maybe I’m a little cynical at times but Mercury Plains tries to be more intelligent than it actually is I couldn’t help but feel that this movie was slightly racist in the way that it viewed Mexico and left me questioning the intelligence of the youth portrayed in this movie especially if they thought they would be able to pass themselves off as Federal Law Enforcement Officers without any badges.
After watching this ‘Movie’ I think that it will be awhile until I even consider watching a movie directed by Charles Burmeister (especially after Mercury Plains’ ending) and even though Scott Eastwood a slight resemblance to his father he is really going to have to redeem himself after being given an unsympathetic character who really didn’t deserve the ending that he got.
