Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment.

For those of you who might be interested this is what I have found out that from 1918 to 2014 there has been 200 movies with Tarzan in the title and from that 1918 and 2016 24 actors have played the role of Tarzan on film

After watching this I have a feeling that I am going to have watching Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.

The Legend of Tarzan, comes as being something slightly different from what you might expect from your typical Tarzan movie I suppose that this could be seen as a sign of the times. Margot Robbie’s character Jane Clayton was written. Jane came across as being a little less ‘Damsel in Distress’ and a little more ‘Action Chick’ (It should be noted that although she doesn’t kick ass and take names but she isn’t the type of woman who has to be rescued every five minutes either). Director David Yates delivered a visually pretty movie that moved along at a decent enough pace and Alexander Skarsgård was a good choice as the newest incarnation of Tarzan. Personally I would have liked to have seen a little more flesh to the bones of the subplot between Tarzan and Chief Mbonga I would have liked to have been show a little more of Mgonga’s hatred of Tarzan rather just being told about it and if we were shown a little more then perhaps the movie could have ended up with run time of an even two hours. The Legend of Tarzan could easily be accused of being predictable but I suppose going into this I had a good idea of where the story was going to go it can be easily overlooked because the movie was such an enjoyable ride.
