The Plastic Fingers are an exhilarating rock art guitar trio from Melbourne who will release their debut EP, The Blessed, on April 1st. The hard-hitting power trio features Mark Ward (MOON, Pearls & Swine) on guitar, vocals and sonic waves; Ronald John Neal (Pearls & Swine) on bass and vocals; and George Velenik on drums, vocals and general hitting of other things.
Vocalist Mark Ward explained that initially inspired by the great three pieces of the last several decades, the band name The Plastic Fingers was born from Jimi Hendrix’s lyrics from ‘If 6 was 9’: “White coloured conservative, drivin’ down the street, pointing that plastic finger at me.”
The 5-track EP is accompanied by a set of complimentary visuals, with the artwork done by Ronald John Neal. The art is deeply connected to the power triangle speeding like an arrowhead into your deepest psychedelic vision. George Velenik said that they have spent the last year in the studio producing their first EP, THE BLESSED, with the musical journey exploring heavy blues, funk and groove entwined with an ever-present love for thumping rock.

The Plastic Fingers will support another Golden Robot Records act, Mi-Sex, in St Kilda, Melbourne on April 2 with a gig at the Memo Music Hall. Tickets available.
