2016 MTV Movie Awards Nominees Announced

MTV has revealed the nominees for The 2016 MTV Movie Awards. Avengers: Age of Ultron, Creed, Deadpool, Jurassic World, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Straight Outta Compton scored nominations for “Movie of the Year,” with Star Wars: The Force Awakens garnering the most nominations (11) for a franchise. The nominees were announced via MTV’s new Snapchat Discover channel – a first for an event of this kind. The 2016 MTV Movie Awards will be hosted by Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart.
“What has always been so cool about the ‘MTV Movie Awards’ is that it’s about blockbuster movies that audiences line up to see; comedies, superheroes, science fiction, fantasy, action,” Casey Patterson, Executive Producer commented “This show is about fandom and the stars come out to celebrate that. The nominees and the content are naturally diverse and eclectic because we’re a true reflection of real movie-going audience.” Patterson explained that this year the “MTV Movie Awards” are also introducing two new categories that celebrate authentic narratives – “True Story” and “Documentary.”
