After having escaped the Maze, the Gladers now face a new set of challenges on the open roads of a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles.

I really didn’t have high hopes entering into this one, and the only thing that brought this to my attention at the friendly neighbourhood DVD store was a sense of idle curiosity. This is based on the second of five books (the fifth book is scheduled to be released in 2016) in James Dashner’s Maze Runner novel series, it should be noted that I am completely unfamiliar with Dashner’s Novel series.
I really wasn’t that impressed with what the filmmakers delivered (I’ll admit that possibly I am going to have remember to refresh my memory when possible when heading back to the next chapter of a film franchise) the main plot point of the Scorch Trials seemed to have been adapted from the 2005 movie the Island. And looking back on my movie watching experience I probably would have preferred to have watched The Island instead of The Scorch Trials. Sure there was a very solid minor cast but that is probably the only good point about the movie, I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to continue on with the film series in the unlikely event a third movie is made. The lead actors gave flat bordering on stale performances and as a PG-13 movie (in the United States) this had what could be considered some of the lamest action sequences that I have seen in recent years. Its a safe bet that the filmmakers where out of inspiration with this one.
