As the war of Panem escalates to the destruction of other districts by the Capitol, Katniss Everdeen, the reluctant leader of the rebellion, must bring together an army against President Snow, while all she holds dear hangs in the balance.

I know it’s highly cynical of me but with the release of Mockingjay part 2 but I feel compelled to say Ding Dong the franchise is DONE. Now before getting too far into this review those uber-fans of the Hunger Games Franchise are probably thrilled with the release of Part 2 and I hope that you enjoy yourselves when you go and see this.
Those of you who regularly read my reviews may know may feelings regarding of the practice of splitting the third movie in a trilogy into a two part, I won’t be opening that can again. One of my major complaints about this movie was the fact that marketing executives used the words ‘epic finale’ when describing part 2. I might be wrong here, but for a movie to be considered to be ‘epic’ I shouldn’t of considered the possibility of several mid-movie nap breaks (for the record no I did not fall asleep even though it seemed like a really good idea if only to move the pace of the movie along) because considering this fourth installment of a supposed trilogy it’s pretty clear that the filmmakers involved with the production of Mockingjay are not aware of the importance of the ancient art of film editing considering that one 390 page book was given two movies clocking with a combined running time of 4 hours and 20 minutes. Also during the climax of the invasion of the capitol be reminded of a Bit from Robin Williams Live on Broadway about bombing Iraq. Now granted good movies are supposed to make you think but not in spite of the moment.
Now it’s great to see that Jennifer Lawrence has grown as an actress over the past three years with other projects but sadly she really didn’t get an opportunity to bring what she had learnt to her role in the Hunger Games Franchise but perhaps there really wasn’t that much to bring anything to.
