The lives of a young couple intertwine with a much older man, as he reflects back on a past love.

The Longest Ride is another addition to the growing list of movies that have been adapted from a Nicholas Sparks novel. To all the men out there who might not be aware of who Nicholas Sparks is, he is the guy who wrote The Notebook (another one of those movies that your girlfriend dragged you to the friendly neighbourhood cinema to see).
As movies go this really isn’t anything terribly spectacular, in fact the longest ride comes across as being very similar to the other movies that have been adapted from Sparks’ novels. Though following any perceived formula really isn’t that bad because this pleasant enough to watch even if I did not find myself that invested in the relationship between Sophia and Luke.
It seems that both Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood to me are both familiar unfamiliar faces being that looking at their respective filmographies I’ve seen other movies that they have been in and I really would like to see both of them in more challenging roles to get a better idea of what they are both capable of as actors.
