An assassin teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry.

This is an adaption of a video game series first released in 2000 and a reboot of the 2007 movie starring Timothy Olyphant and directed by Xavier Gens. On personal note this was the better of the two movies that I watched at a personal impromptu film fest at the friendly neighbourhood cinema.
I actually kind of liked this one; there was some interesting enough action sequences and the movie did not fall into the hole where the filmmakers craft their movie in such a way that it achieves a rating so that it can be seen by the widest possible audience. But if you take into consideration the game series that movie is based there was a low risk of something like that happening. It was also good to see that Skip Woods one of the guys who wrote the screenplay for this was also involved with the writing of the 2007 Hitman movie. Now I’m not a total fan of Woods’ work especially considering his involvement with The A-Team movie but I did like the whole “We determine who we are by what we do” thing that was worked throughout the movie. I have a question I hope that somebody might be able to answer for me why is it that Movie Studio, seemingly always entrust potential franchise movies with directors who have directed less than five movies?
