Only a short time after the first raid, Rama goes undercover with the thugs of Jakarta and plans to bring down the syndicate and uncover the corruption within his police force.

Okay before I start my review a small piece of house work. Should the rumours of a possible ‘all female expendables’ be true, Julie Estelle deserves to be considered for this movie because I hope that the filmmakers realise that in order to cast this movie that they need more than just a cast of past movie heroes.
For the record I ended up travelling a little further to go and watch this one and I am glad that I ended up making the effort or I would have had to wait till this was released on DVD before I had a chance to review this one.
I really wish that I did not take so long to get my act together and go watch this one. In a word, Wow. The Raid 2 actually surpassed the expectations I had for this movie after watching the trailer. As we all know there a lot of movies out there that when it comes to the trailer personally I feel that The Raid 2 danced with that line without really crossing over making it pretty clear that Director Gareth Evans has raised the bar with this one. It was great to see that Iko Uwais reprised his role from the previous movie, it should be noted that Iko Uwais has also worked with Gareth Evans in the 2009 Merantau. I really feel that if Iko Uwais can evolve his style he will be on the same level as Tony Jaa.
