Fresh from prison, a street racer who was framed by a wealthy business associate joins a cross country race with revenge in mind. His ex-partner, learning of the plan, places a massive bounty on his head as the race begins.
I know that I’m getting up on my high horse for a brief moment because I did not have the guts to say anything at the time and yes I know that I am probably guilty of my own personal quirks while watching a movie either on DVD or at the Cinema. I have a message for the teenage boys sitting in front of me who decided to have a conversation about three quarters of the way through the movie there is a place for those kind of conversations, it’s called the lobby.

Ok off the high horse and on with the review.
I can’t say that I am overly familiar with Aaron Paul’s work, I did not jump on the Breaking Bad bandwagon, though I did check it out in passing also for the record I’m not overly familiar with the Need for Speed game franchise personally I was under the impression that any links to the game franchise was tenuous at best. If anybody who is very familiar with the game franchise has any thoughts about how this movie rates as a ‘computer game movie’ please tell me.
Aaron had great on screen presence in the movie but that’s all his role really called for, he did not have that much to work with. Despite the whole revenge angle that seemed a little overhyped in places.
But, let’s be honest, it was never about the story. If you go to these kind of movies expecting a brilliant you really need to re-evaluate the choices you make when you watch movies. It was all about the cars, stunts and the countryside. Something director Scott Waugh was more than capable of delivering.
