Retired C.I.A. agent Frank Moses reunites his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device.

Red 2 seemed to fall into one of the basic problems that all franchise movies seem to face, they failed to retain the director from the previous movie and although red 2 didn’t have the same flair as the 2010 original yet it’s still a very watchable movie. It was good to see that the filmmakers did not totally abandon the franchise’s comic book origins, I thought that the filmmakers’ visual nods to actual comic books was a nice touch. However, I would have loved to have seen some ‘comic book exaggeration’ to the action sequences that was seen in the 2010 movie. I loved Helen Mirren’s performance and it was good to see that she had toned down, Operation Swordfish inspired action moment
Considering Red’s comic book origins a third movie for the franchise can almost be expected, though to save the franchise I would like to see that the filmmakers take elements from both of the movies like the global scale from Red 2 and some of the exaggerated action sequences from the 2010 movie.
