Vic Gov. Abolishes Rego Stickers

From 1 January 2014 the Victorian Government has abolished rego stickers have been abolished for all light vehicles bringing Victoria into line most other Australian States.
“While all motorists benefit from the time saving of not having to peel off and replace stickers each year, there will be significant cost reductions to businesses which operate a fleet of company vehicles and have to coordinate for the changeover of labels,” Minister for Roads Terry Mulder commented.
Mr Mulder pointed out that the scrapping of the traditional stickers will save Victorians, particularly operators of company vehicles, an estimated $19.5 million each year in lost time and inconvenience.
“Nothing will change in terms of the notification that registration is due, however we know that more and more people prefer to pay and check their registration online.” Mr Mulder Said.
Mulder explained that drivers can visit the VicRoads website and enter their number plate to check when their registration will expire. While the search will also provide other details including make, model and colour of the vehicle, no personal details are provided on the website.
