While on a tour of the White House with his young daughter, a Capitol policeman springs into action to save his child and protect the president from a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders.

This is the second white house being attacked movie that has been released this year, it would seem that fictional Presidents of the United States of America are having a run of bad luck. Though I both enjoyed both Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum’s performances they ended up taking this movie in a direction it probably should not have gone, the movie could have done with comedic moments and concentrated more on the tension.
Roland Emmerich is more than capable to direct a movie like this, it’s just that with the casting of Channing Tatum as the hero of the movie he seemed to be trying to cast his net to wide. Channing is too much of a pretty boy, if Emmerich really wanted to hit a home run with this one he needed an actor who looks like he has been punched in the face a few times.

I have to wonder if director Roland Emmerich has something against The White House considering that this is the third time that he directed a movie where it gets destroyed, the previous two movies being Independence Day and 2012.
