Member for Molonglo Steve Doszpot has raised concerns about the parking situation at Yarralumla Shopping Centre after receiving a number of complaints from residents in the area. Mr. Doszpot raised the issue with the Minister for Territory and Municipal Services in February about the issue and in March received an interim response with a promise of consultation and action, however four months later there has been no action.
“Not only is it dangerous for motorists, but the area is frequently used by pedestrians, many of whom are elderly, and their safety is being put at risk by this Minister’s lack of urgency to fix the situation.” Mr. Doszpot commented.
The Member for Molonglo has made a suggestion to address the parking situation at Yarralumla Shopping Centre by changing direction of the straight parking lines to diagonal lines.
