Native American warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice.

Okay, if you get over the fact that the role of Tonto went to Johnny Depp instead of any Native American, which admittedly was a ballsy move, but it was not a complete disaster, because Depp was more then up to the task bringing a Captain Jack-esque flair to the role. Watching this movie is a little bit of a marathon effort considering that it clocks at over two hours and considering that this an origin story for the Lone Ranger the overall length of movie could be sacrificed to quicken the pace of the movie. There was also some brilliant set action pieces and overall look to the movie. However, I feel that Disney’s involvement in the production of The Lone Ranger might have limited its success considering that Tarantino’s Django Unchained has raised bar for all Westerns produced since 90’s.
Armie Hammer was a good choice for the role of John Reid and the way his character left at the end of the movie that box office success could have led to a possible sequel, as you would expect with most superhero movies.
