After a cataclysmic shipwreck, young Pi Patel finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with only one other survivor – a ferocious Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. Bound by the need to survive, the two are cast on an epic journey that must be seen to be believed.

I really really should have got my ass to the cinema to watch this one, if you are going to watch this one on DVD you need to watch this on the largest screen possible, because the majority of the scenes at sea have a picturesque oil painting feel to them which reminded me of the 1998 movie What Dreams May Come .Even though I did not watch the 3D version of Life of Pi, I would hedge a bet to say that the 3D version of this movie is one of the few 3D movies in the past 10 years that was actually crafted properly.
The only downfall to Life of Pi is that there is a secondary movie of the adult Pi Patel telling the story of the shipwreck to the writer which took away from the flow of the main plot of the movie.
