A father goes undercover for the DEA in order to free his son who was imprisoned after being set up in drug deal.

Snitch is generally everything that you would expect from a movie starring Dwayne Johnson, his acting is definitely improving but I’m not sure if he will be anything more than an action star (but then again he probably doesn’t need to). I was particularly impressed with Barry Pepper’s performance. An interesting point was made at the end of the movie citing statistics that show because of the show in America certain first-time non-violent drug offenders receive longer prison sentences on average than those convicted of rape or manslaughter.
The biggest problem with the movie was director Ric Roman Waugh who although was more than able to put together a decent action sequence really did not seem to be able to catch the dramatic urgency that would go with desperately trying to get somebody out of prison, especially the heightened feeling that go with trying to get your child out of prison and I am sure that the action would not let up, like it seemed to do at time in the movie.
