After the crew of the Enterprise find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

I was not really sure the direction, the filmmakers where going to take in the new time line that they have created within the Star Trek universe. It seems that they acknowledge the previous movies without using the entire storyline of a given Movie. I suppose the major question that we have to wait to be answered is, how many films there are going to be in this new series?
This would have to be the first decent 3D film that I have since The Hobbit. J.J. Abrams might not have done the visual feel that Peter Jackson had with The Hobbit, but he came close, especially with the footage in space. I can only hope that other filmmakers will learn the lesson and just maybe that the 3D comic book movies will stop being such an embarrassment.
Benedict Cummberbatch was devilishly brilliant as Khan. Both Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto gave decent performances though I have to wonder that even with this new timeline both Pine and Quinto are somewhat hamstrung by their predecessors.
